More than One remedy needed in Most Advanced Pathological Cases in Homeopathic Practice
Dear Homeopathy Lovers,
As we celebrate Hahnemann’s Week, I’ve been reading the master’s writings and, in particular, studying his clinical cases. One striking observation that resonates with my own clinical experience and that of some of the finest homeopaths I've had the privilege to work with is this: (Especially in chronic, deep-seated, and pathological conditions, a succession of remedies often seems necessary to support true healing.)
Many of Hahnemann’s cases required more than one remedy over time.
"It is only in cases not too far advanced where tissue changes are not too great that a cure can be consummated with a single remedy given in a succession of potencies. Advanced cases frequently require a succession of remedies not too high in potency over much longer periods to effect cures."
- Dr. Arthur Grimmer
Burnett writes - Ladder of Remedies:
I hold this concept in the highest regard. When dealing with deep, complicated pathological cases with very few symptoms, I use a series of remedies at different levels for deeper healing. The main idea is to give the first remedy based on the symptoms indicated, then wait for a few days or weeks, depending on the case. Based on the new set of symptoms, a new remedy is prescribed, and so on. These remedies can be nosodes, sarcodes, or anti miasmatic remedies, individualized to the case.
Dr. Burnett used lower potencies and mother tinctures with frequent repetition (2-3 times a day for months) and cured many cases with this “ladder of remedies” approach. When a colleague asked him, “How would you know which remedy worked for the patient?” he replied “When you climb the stairs to reach the top floor, do you know which step helped you to be on top?”
This is one of the key topics I’ll be exploring in our upcoming course:
“Miasms, Nosodes, Sarcodes, Fungi, Imponderabilia & Intercurrent Remedies.”
In this special program, we’ll dive into a question every practitioner faces sooner or later:
What do you do when a case gets stuck?
What if the indicated or constitutional remedy doesn’t bring the desired shift?
How do we move forward in a blocked case?
This 20+ hour course is designed to answer exactly that — offering practical insights, clinical strategies, and real-world experience. You’ll get 2 years of online access, so you can revisit and absorb the material at your own pace.
Starts this June — with special discounted seats now available!

We’d love to hear from you: What are your thoughts? Have you seen similar patterns in your practice? How do you approach complex or non-responding cases?
Let’s grow and learn together as a community — just as the masters.
Warm regards,
